Day 1: Arrival and Exploring Ooty

You can enjoy an amazing boat ride on Ooty Lake, where you can rent a pedal boat or rowboat and take in the scenic beauty around you. The cool breeze and amazing views will refresh your spirits.

Afternoon: Botanical Gardens

Post-lunch, visit the Government Botanical Gardens, a sprawling 55-acre garden that displays a various collection of flora. After visiting the gardens, then go to Doddabetta Peak, the highest point in the Nilgiri Hills, located about 10 km from Ooty. The drive to the peak is picturesque, and once you arrive at the top, you will be welcomed with stunning views of the surrounding hill station and green valleys.

There are telescope amenities available for tourists to get a closer look at the green landscapes. Here, you can spend more time enjoying the scenic views and the fresh hill station air.

Dinner: Local Delicacies

Night: Free Time

After dinner, you can go to the local market for some shopping. Ooty is famous for its tea, handmade chocolates, and woollen clothes. You can go for a walk over the streets and experience the cool and fresh climate of the mountain before returning to your stay for a good night’s rest.

Day 2: Discovering Ooty and Coonoor

Morning: Breakfast and Check-Out

Begin your day with a healthy breakfast at our hotel. After enjoying your breakfast, check out and prepare for a day of sightseeing.

Late Morning: Visit to Coonoor

After breakfast, start for a short trip to Coonoor, which is exactly 19 km from Ooty. Coonoor is well-known for its beautiful landscapes and tea estates. You can either take a cab or choose the popular Nilgiri Mountain Railway—a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The toy train ride from Ooty to Coonoor is an experience in itself, providing amazing views of the valleys, hills, and tea plantations along the way.

Tea Garden Tour

Once you arrive at Coonoor, visit one of the most tea estates in the place. Sim’s Park is a charming botanical garden where you can enjoy a pleasant walk located by exotic trees and plants. Afterward, take a guided tour of a tea factory to learn about the tea-making process. You can enjoy a cup of freshly brewed Nilgiri tea while immersing yourself in the lush surroundings.

Lunch: Coonoor

For lunch, we went to a local restaurant in Coonoor. Here, you can find a wide range of dining options, from traditional South Indian dishes to multi-cuisine restaurants. You can enjoy the pleasant ambiance and savor the flavors of the region. 

Afternoon: Lamb's Rock and Dolphin's Nose

After having lunch, visit Lamb's Rock, a viewpoint that provides panoramic views of the surrounding hills and valleys. It’s the best place for photography lovers. Next, head to Dolphin's Nose, another popular tourist place that offers stunning views of the Catherine Falls and Nilgiri Hills. You can go for a trek to Dolphin's Nose, which is one of the incredible experiences, surrounded by fresh mountain air and lush greenery.

Evening: Return to Ooty

After sightseeing in Coonoor, begin your trip back to Ooty. You can take a leisurely drive back, enjoying the beautiful landscapes along the way. If time permits, you can stop at a few viewpoints to take beautiful scenery pics.

Dinner: Final Meal in Ooty
